I guess this is the part where I’m supposed to give some long-winded backstory on the person I’ve been up to this point and how it led to the creation of Narmeen Says, right?
As much as I’d love to fill you all in on the past chaotic ups and downs of a 20-something-year-old’s life – I’m not going to. You see, this blog isn’t about my past and how I got here, it’s all about where I’m going. But, it’s also about you, readers, and your journey.
Every one of us, including myself, has a fixed image in our heads of how life is supposed to turn out – the perfect life if you will, right down to the cliché white picket fence. I mean sure, it’s always good to have a plan, but the thing about life is… It never happens the way we intend it to.
This blog is about the journey we all take when we plunge, full speed ahead, into the complexities of adulthood and what happens as we attempt to find our true place in the ‘real world.’
It’s about life’s harsh truths as well as the funny, happy, confusing bits in between. Not only that, but it’s also about inspiration – inspiring ourselves, our loved ones and even complete strangers to always believe that there is still good left in this world.
It’s about the moments we experience that are filled with gut-wrenching fear followed by complete and utter courage. It’s about being tough enough to push past the point of comfort, but also gentle enough to forgive for mistakes that have been made and have yet to be made. Mostly, it’s just about taking life one day at a time.
To put it rather simply, in the words of Douglas Adams, “I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be.”
So, my dear readers, as you continue along your own journey remember:
Dare to dream.
Dare to inspire.
Dare to stand out.
